File > Import > Gerber 250311

Hello Diptrace forum,

Working to rebuilt lost dip file by importing Gerbers by following
directions at:
viewtopic.php?t=11369#:~:text=1%29%20La ... ber%20file.

Need to add trace to file resulting from importing.

When the Route Manual button is clicked DipTrace returns
"Impossible to push and route. Please undo last segment."

There is no last segment in that the traces were added by
File > Import > Gerber.

How can traces be added to this file?

Allen,
The referenced 'directions' are from yr 2017 -
what ver, OS, was used then and current.
Much changes with backward compatibility.
