I would like to lay out a block of circuitry using a subset of a multi-part component (example: two out of four logic gates). I don't see how to do this. It seems that if I add U1 to the block, using U1.1 and U1.2, then each new block instantiated would generate a new component rather than drawing in the next two sub-parts (would make a U1.1-1 and U1.2-1 on the first block and U1.1-2 and U1.2-2 on the second one). Instead, I'd like it to add U1.3 and U1.4.
Does this mean that multi-part usage and hierarchy blocks are incompatible? Or more specifically, do you have to use the entire set of component 'parts' in each block, or else simply lose them?
Hellllllp, as I'm in the middle of a design where I need to know. Blocks REALLY help on the schematic and layout, so I want to use them, but I am forced to use a multi-part (OpAmp) device.

Re: multi-part components inside hierarchy blocks
My apologies -- this has been covered here: viewtopic.php?p=35723&hilit=multi+part#p35723
The wrap-up was that even in 2024 that multipart and heirarchy blocks are incompatible. Still an open issue about whether it might be added/improved in V5 or beyond.
