We have many boards which require slots to make the proper board shape iwhen panelized. The algorythm in Panelization when I select V-Scoring often created large openings in the board array which would allow solder spillover to the top side when wave soldering. I have to create a rout layer which is created in Gerber format because I cannot create a slot which comes out in the NC drill/rout format. I can create a mounting hole but it cannot be turned into a slot in any way that I have found. Then I have to inform my PCB fabricator to ignore the openings created by using V-Scoring in the Panelization screen.
So two items which would make my life easier:
1. Allow for a "None" option in the Panelization screen.
2. Create a slot routing option which would export into a file called "rout.nc" in N/C routing format
Thanks
Creating Routed Slots
Re: Creating Routed Slots
DipTrace can create slot holes in NC drill format for TH pads with oval holes. The problem however is the slot holes will be transferred into the same NC drill file with plated holes. We will consider extending properties of mounting holes to make slotted mounting (i.e. non plated) holes.
