Importing Digikey's Kicad symbols and footprints help?

#1 Post by underwoodle » 01 Jun 2019, 23:49

I'm trying to import Digikey's Kicad footprint and symbols library located at https://github.com/Digi-Key/digikey-kicad-library

Currently I am using Diptrace v 3.3.1.3 and supposedly it has the ability to import kicad footprints and symbols.

Nothing I seem to do works.

For instance:

1. Load up Pattern Editor
2. Select Library/Import/Kicad Footprints menu item.
3. Select the folder where the footprints are located, click ok

Nothing happens.

Another instance:

1. Load up Pattern Editor
2. Select New, put in name of new library and select library group 'Other Libraries'
3. Select Library/Import/Kicad Footprints menu item
4. Say yes to save changes in the previous library created
5. Enter new library name to be saved in 'My Libraries'
6. Now select the folder where the footprints are located, click ok

Nothing happens.

So Diptrace is hard coded to pull the footprints from a .pretty folder. Interestering.

Thank you. :D
