BOM Creation tool missing components

#1 Post by mikez2025 » 03 Feb 2025, 16:32

Hi DipTrace community,

I didnt know where else to post this. I have been using diptrace for over 10 years, over 100 designs exported to PCB manufacturing, never an issue.

This past design cycle export some of my components did not get picked up by the BOM creation tool in either 'export to file' and 'Place Table'.

I went to a past design where the export worked correctly (the placed table has the correct BOM) and now it does not. Same issue- some components were skipped.

Per older posts I checked my library configuration and some of the skipped components have correct library locations with an active correct file. A few did not, but this has never mattered in the past.

I cannot find a common thread between the missing components.

What else should I check? It feels like it could be a bug.

Thank you in advance.

Best,
Mike

What version of DipTrace do you use?
Do you export BOM from Schematic or PCB Layout? In the second case, didn't you create an assembly variant where some components are excluded?
Could you share your design on the forum or send files to DipTrace support.

Hello, I am running 4.3.0.5 (6/5/2023) and am having the exact same problem as the original post. Did anyone find a way to resolve this? Thank you.

I’m also experiencing the same issue on my end — components randomly missing from the BOM when exporting from the schematic. I double-checked library links and file paths, and everything seems correct. This behavior only started recently, so I’m wondering if it’s version-related or something deeper. Would appreciate any updates or workarounds others have found!

Any news about this?

I am also having problem with BOM creation (Win11/5.1.0.3)
Almost all my resistors and capacitors have the same value in my generated BOM !!

I got a quick reply from Diptrace support about this.
I was using the wrong settings for BOM creation in the "Group Rows By" drop-down box.
My own fault.
