I'm a Linux user who's evaluating switching to DipTrace, but I can't get past section 1.1 of the tutorial.
I've tried a few different Wine configurations, and all of them have had this issue. The most mainstream setup I tested on was Fedora 41, which wouldn't even launch the installer unless I used Bottles, so I would try to reproduce it in whatever environment you've tested DipTrace on Linux on in the past. I saw the exact same issue with version 9.0.1 of the "soda" wine distribution that Bottles defaults to as I did with wine 10.5 and wine 10.2, so I don't think the version of wine is the issue.
Reproduction steps:
1. Install DipTrace using wine directly or Bottles
2. Launch the schematic editor
3. Select File -> Titles and Sheet Setup
4. Select ANSI A from the Sheet Template menu (all options seem to behave similarly)
5. DipTrace quickly stops responding
Schematic editor hangs when selecting a sheet template in Wine
Re: Schematic editor hangs when selecting a sheet template in Wine
We aware of the problem but this seems a Wine issue. The same executable works differently on Windows and Linux. All we can do is to recommend stable version of Wine and 32-bit version of DipTrace even though you have 64-bit system.
