Compound Patterns?

#1 Post by tlmp » 16 May 2025, 23:21

Hello, I'm trying to create a Pattern by combining multiple Patterns. In my layout, I created a component by combining a Bridge Rectifier and (4) Diode suppressor Caps connected to the Rectifier's Pins. I wanted to save this to my Pattern Library as one component. The problem is that DT saved the Bridge Rectifier and the Cap patterns separately instead of as a single Component / Pattern. When I try to create this Pattern using the Pattern Editor, once I put the Rectifier on the screen, DT will not allow me to add my Cap patterns to it. So my question is if there is any way to create a Pattern by combining several patterns, instead of having to draw everything all at once?

Well, I guess I asked a stupid question here. I was under the impression that I could save a component to my pattern library but that seems not to be true. I should have read the manual.

As far as I know, it is not possible to save compound components to the pattern library (DipTrace v5.1.0.3).
