I am using DipTrace version 5.1.0.3 (freeware). My pcb board is double layer: Top (Red), Bottom (Green).
I fail to connect a through-hole pad to the bottom layer (ground plane) using PCB Layout (I skip Schematic Capture).
I have gone through the provided tutorial, but still can't figure it all out. Co-pilot mention the need to rename net to GND.
Appreciate any advise, thanks.

Connecting a through-hole pad to the bottom copper (ground)
Re: Connecting a through-hole pad to the bottom copper (ground)
The pad and the copper pour should belong to the same net, they will be connected automatically if you updated the copper pour. So, if the copper pour is disconnected from proper net, you can right click on the copper pour outline, go to properties then the connectivity tab and select a net from "Connect to Net" drop-down box. If the pad is not connected to proper net, click on "Place Ratline" icon, click on the pad and drag a connection to other pad of the same net.
There is however one trick to do without the connectivity method described above. Right click on the pad, open "Thermal Settings" from submenu, set "Use Custom Settings" and change the "Connect" option from "By Pour" to "Yes". Be careful with this method however.
