We have released DipTrace 5.2 today!
The major new feature is Walk Around in the interactive router, combined with Push Traces (both can work together to achieve the best results). The improved Find in Layout/Schematic now allows searching by all parameters, as well as selecting (including multiple selection) and editing component/net properties directly from the search results list. We’ve also added EasyEDA and Pulsonix imports, along with a number of other features requested by our user community.
Upgrade is free for all 5.x customers – just install it on the same PC where your 5.x license is activated.
Our near-term plans include:
- Further improving Walk Around and Push & Shove (feedback is already positive, but there’s still room to make it faster and more powerful);
- Adding auto-routed Walk Around segment (currently it works with a selected segment, trying to keep its shape but correcting where needed with the same principle as "push traces" works. However the results should be even better if auto-route the segment first);
- Interactive editing (pushing traces and following rules while editing traces/vias);
- Fast and improved component search using a database (already implemented, testing and integration are in progress);
- Mouser integration for pricing and direct links in BOM (also in testing).
