Is it possible to name the downloads something other than diptrace_enXX.ee? Like diptrace_en64_5.2.0.2.exe is my suggestion
Also, why two options, free or trial? I bought this, so neither apply?
Download names
Re: Download names
Thank you for your suggestion. At the moment, you can control the product version in the properties of the installation file.friesen wrote: 24 Oct 2025, 12:37 Is it possible to name the downloads something other than diptrace_enXX.ee? Like diptrace_en64_5.2.0.2.exe is my suggestion
1. Freeware (Non-commercial) Editionfriesen wrote: 24 Oct 2025, 12:37 Also, why two options, free or trial? I bought this, so neither apply?
Intended for personal, educational, or hobby use — not for commercial work.
After installation, it doesn’t expire.
Limited by number of pins and signal layers (for example, 300 pins / 2 signal layers).
You don’t need to activate a trial or a paid license — it works “forever” within those limits.
2. Trial (Full) Edition
Intended for evaluation of the full commercial features.
It gives you the highest license level (e.g., DipTrace Full, unlimited pins and layers) for 30 days.
At the beginning, you can install either the Free or Trial version — it’s your choice. After working with the program for a while and evaluating it,
you can decide which license suits you best, then purchase it and finally enter the registration data in any DipTrace edition.
Re: Download names
I owned this for years, so I'm supposed to download the trial for every update? There is no properly named download for users who have actually already purchased the program.
Re: Download names
Like diptrace_en64_5.2.0.2.exe... makes total sense. At a minimum, the FULL version in any announcement, query, and all posts.

I second you on this. Came here to say the same and you have already posted my request.
